On unnecessary change
If your TikTok fyp looks anything like mine, you’re constantly seeing content about becoming the best version of yourself.
One of the biggest factors in becoming the best you is your environment.
Not just the people you surround yourself with, but the actual place you live, and how close you are to the things that propel you forward.
I’ve lived in Austin, Texas for the past 6 years. And over the last year or so, I started feeling antsy. Like I couldn’t settle. Because deep down, I knew I needed to move.
Here’s the thing, nothing was wrong!! I had it all tbh:
Had a beautiful apartment all to myself
Was a regular at my yoga studio
The baristas at the coffee shop knew my name and my order
Always had fun Friday night plans
And a routine that energized me
Despite all that, I still had the nagging thought: “I’ve gotta get out of here.”
I love Austin so much, but I outgrew it. I was just a little too comfortable.
I’m a believer that too much comfort is not a good thing, and staying any longer would’ve been a disservice to myself.
If you read this newsletter, it means that you’re a growth minded person who’s meant for a big life….so you’ll understand why I just had to:
MOVE TO NEW YORK CITY !!!!!! 🍎🏙️🚕✨
The truth is NYC has been calling my name for years. My mind just would NOT shut up about it.
So quite literally, the only option was to go and see…
POV: you’re young, hot, single, childless, & living in NYC
Here’s the tea: Comfort is sneaky. It’s great for resting, but it’s not great for becoming.
Too much of it leads to stagnation.
Like, name one time growth has come from inside your comfort zone. I’ll wait☝️.
When I tell people from my hometown that I moved, their first response is always “Omg it costs so much to live there.”
TRUE. But nothing compared to the cost of never coming at all.
Your environment shapes who you are, how you feel, and what you believe is possible!!!!! A big chunk of your reality!!!!
Boredom, restlessness, and that antsy feeling?! Signs that you need a little change in your environment, work, habits, routines, or identities that no longer stretch you.
TLDR: nothing has to be wrong for you to decide you want something different :)
& shoot me an email if you’re ever in NYC 💌

There’s a growing cultural shift, especially among Gen Z and millennials toward creating and consuming physical items as a way to cope with “always on” burnout from social media, AI, & screen-time in general.
A few ways to explore this in your own life:
ARTS & CRAFTS!! knitting, pottery, painting, woodworking (anything that you do with your hands that requires focus)
vinyl records
film photography
paper planners
handwritten cards
reading physical books

Instead of vocab this week, I’d like to draw your attention to one of my favorite memes to come out of the Bad Bunny concert this week where there was also football:

really, any meme with the people dressed as grass is top tier
